Maxim is CEO and founder of ally, an app for multimodal public transport* available in 87 cities worldwide.
He studied economics at Harvard, MIT & WHU. Maxim joined Royal Dutch/Shell’s strategy team in London, working on climate change scenarios. In 2005 he founded a university institute, the Reinhard-Mohn-Institute for Leadership & Governance, and two years later became the youngest-ever appointed VP and MD of a German university. In 2012 he co-founded Waymate, a multimodal travel platform, which became ally in 2015. Maxim is also a spokesperson of BITKOM for Berlin-Brandenburg, representing the growing startup ecosystem.
Many praise big data as the panacea for more efficiency, security, transparency and improving communities in large cities. To date this universal remedy has been rather abstract. The applications developed by Berlin start-up Ally demonstrate the concrete advantages of big data for citizens.
