Thaisy is a journalist and social media marketer. Currently she works at Globo.com, one of the largest websites in Brazil, as an editor for technology. In 2010, Thaisy witnessed the the social web’s impact on politics first-hand as she worked in the reelection campaign of Rio’s current governor Sergio Cabral. In the next year, she worked for the Olympic City project, coordinating the social media actions. Thaisy grew up in the suburbs of Rio de Janeiro in the neighborhood of Madureira close to several of Rio’s favelas.
